Early in my career I studied metals and sculpture. In those practices, found objects and appropriation played a very large role in the pieces I made. My college series 'The Commons' is really no different. While the viewing experience is of a 2-dimensional object, the process is one of appropriation of existing materials, in this case images culled from Flickr Commons.

'Schematics' is a series of large-scale prints that explores the interior life of the electronics we use daily. By layering and abstracting the images, we are asked to contemplate the inherit pattern and beauty at the heart of technology.
'Pinhole' is a series of collages created from marrying the techniques of pinhole photography with the digital imaging power of photoshop. While the pinhole camera is the oldest photographic device known to man, dating back to China in the 5th century BC, Photoshop is a relatively new tool.
'Pinhole' explores this collision of past and present while creating something entirely new from the parts.
